Fairchild Medical Center Continues Longstanding Support of the Siskiyou Golden Fair
YREKA, Calif. — Fairchild Medical Center proudly continued its longstanding tradition of supporting the Siskiyou Golden Fair by participating in the 2026 Junior Livestock Auction, providing price support for local youth exhibitors, and engaging with the community throughout fair week.
Each year, the Siskiyou Golden Fair brings together families, businesses, and agricultural leaders to celebrate the dedication and accomplishments of local youth involved in 4-H and FFA. Fairchild Medical Center is honored to support that tradition by investing in the next generation of leaders while reinforcing its commitment to the communities it serves.
During this year’s Junior Livestock Auction, Fairchild Medical Center purchased market animals from local exhibitors Josie Griggs, Kashley Joling and Macey Howell. In addition to these purchases, Fairchild Medical Center also provided price support to help recognize the hard work, responsibility, and dedication demonstrated by youth exhibitors throughout the livestock program.
Beyond the auction, the Fairchild Medical Center Foundation and Auxiliary welcomed visitors at an informational booth throughout the five-day fair, where volunteers connected with community members from across Siskiyou County. The booth offered information about volunteer opportunities, Foundation programs, fundraising events, and the many ways community support helps strengthen local healthcare. Visitors also learned how the Foundation and Auxiliary contribute to patient care initiatives, medical equipment purchases, educational opportunities, and other programs that enhance healthcare services throughout the region.
“Our participation in the Siskiyou Golden Fair is about more than purchasing livestock—it’s about supporting the families, youth, and communities that make Siskiyou County such a special place,” said Claire Anstead, Executive Director of the Fairchild Medical Center Foundation. “Whether we’re investing in young exhibitors through the Junior Livestock Auction or connecting with residents at our Foundation booth, we’re proud to celebrate the values of service, hard work, and community that define this event.”
The Junior Livestock Auction provides young exhibitors with valuable experience in animal care, responsibility, financial management, and public engagement—skills that prepare them for future success. Fairchild Medical Center is proud to support these students as they develop through agriculture and leadership programs that continue to have a lasting impact on Siskiyou County.
Fairchild Medical Center extends its congratulations to all of the 2026 Junior Livestock exhibitors and thanks the volunteers, fair organizers, buyers, and community members whose continued support makes the Siskiyou Golden Fair a meaningful tradition year after year. Through partnerships like these, Fairchild Medical Center remains committed to investing in the health, well-being, and future of the communities it is privileged to serve.
