Dr. Rocha is a board-certified Family Medicine physician with fellowship training in high-risk surgical obstetrics and a strong dedication to providing thoughtful, comprehensive healthcare to individuals and families throughout every stage of life. He is honored to join Fairchild Medical Center as a Family Medicine and Obstetrics Physician and looks forward to serving the residents of Yreka and Siskiyou County.
His journey toward medicine began in a small village in the heart of the Brazilian Amazon rainforest, where he grew up with his family in a home without electricity, running water, or sanitation services. Experiencing firsthand the challenges associated with limited access to basic resources and healthcare gave him an early understanding of how profoundly these circumstances can shape the health and well-being of individuals and communities. These formative years cultivated in him a deep sense of purpose and a desire to use medicine as a means of service, connection, and meaningful change. Even as a child, riding horseback with his sister more than six kilometers to their rural school, he envisioned becoming a physician who would listen attentively, serve with humility, and help people navigate their health with dignity and understanding.
That vision eventually brought him to the United States in 2006. His path included earning master’s degrees in Public Health and Healthcare Administration, working in clinical and public health settings, and serving underserved communities both domestically and abroad. He completed full-spectrum Family Medicine residency training at Swedish Cherry Hill, where his growing enthusiasm for pregnancy and childbirth led him to pursue advanced fellowship training in high-risk surgical obstetrics, including cesarean delivery.
Obstetrics has since become one of his foremost professional interests. His clinical expertise includes high-risk prenatal care, labor and delivery, cesarean sections, newborn care, office gynecology, contraceptive procedures, vasectomies, D&C, point-of-care ultrasound, and a broad range of office-based procedures. He particularly enjoys guiding patients through pregnancy, explaining their options, addressing their concerns, and helping them feel prepared for labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. Fluent in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, he values the opportunity to build trust and foster meaningful relationships with patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Rocha is dedicated to medical education, public health, quality improvement, and collaborative practice. He and his wife are excited to begin this new chapter in Northern California after many years in Washington State, and he is grateful for the opportunity to bring his training, perspective, and skills to Fairchild Medical Center and the broader Siskiyou County community. He strives to practice with integrity, humility, and purpose, guided by the belief that excellent medicine begins with listening, understanding, and meeting each person where they are.
