Celebrating 25 Years of Service!

On October 24, 2000, Dr. Richard and Dr. Vina Swenson began their journey with Fairchild Medical Center and today, we honor their 25 years of dedication to our patients and community.

Dr. Rick Swenson, Family Medicine with Obstetrics, has delivered 2,000 babies at Fairchild Medical Center.  He has also served in physician leadership, chairing multiple medical staff committees and piloting quality initiatives that have strengthened care across the organization.

Dr. Vina Swenson, Pediatrician, has been a trusted provider for generations of families. She’s led youth wellness efforts as a long-time board member of the Siskiyou Family YMCA and has served as Camp Physician since 2015. Dr. Vina Swenson is the current Chief of Staff and has served multiple terms. She also serves as Medical Advisor for Pediatrics and has chaired several medical staff committees focused on quality and safety.

They’ve raised three children in Siskiyou County including a future physician currently in residency and another preparing for medical school and one who is working on her PHD in Agriculture, strongly influenced by her FFA teachers at Yreka High School.

From coaching baseball to serving on community boards, the Swenson’s have built a legacy of care, compassion, and commitment.
