We want your time in our Labor and Delivery department to be warm and welcoming. We also want to celebrate you and your new baby. As part of that celebration, we have a wonderful tradition here at FMC that celebrates our new moms and a guest with a special meal after your baby is born.
Our Celebration Meal for two includes the choice of several entrees as well as sparkling cider to share with a special someone.
TREATING YOU LIKE FAMILY
At FMC, our commitment extends beyond medical care. We pride ourselves on treating you and your family like our own. Your journey with us is not just a medical experience but a shared celebration of family and life. Our department is always available, from the moment you walk through our doors, our dedicated team is here to guide you through the birth of your child with compassion, expertise and personalized care.
CHILDBIRTH EDUCATION
Childbirth education classes are taught by obstetrics nurses and provide expectant mothers and their birth coach with information and skill-building activities that prepare them for childbirth and the first few weeks at home with a new baby. Expectant mothers should be at least 28 weeks gestation at the time of the class.
Classes are held on the first two Saturdays of each month in two-part, half-day sessions. View our informational flyer to learn more.
This service is provided free of charge, thanks to a generous donation from the Fairchild Medical Center Foundation. Please call 530-841-6285 to register.
FOOTPRINTS TO THE FUTURE
Presented by the Fairchild Medical Center Foundation, the Footprints to the Future program allows parents, grandparents and family members to place a personal piece of their infant’s history to be forever located in Siskiyou County. Your baby need not have been born at Fairchild Medical Center to participate in this program. Satin silver medallions will be engraved with the baby’s footprint, along with the name and birth date of the newborn.
One medallion will be placed permanently on a recognition wall in the hospital, and one will be mailed home. You are invited to participate in the program by providing a copy of a footprint of the baby you wish to recognize along with the name, birth date and sex. Footprints may be copied from a birth certificate, baby book or medical chart.
These recognition footprints will remain in perpetuity. Your donation gives children and adults an opportunity to return to their birthplace and find a personal piece of their history still remaining.
To inquire about placing an order for a footprint, please obtain a brochure from the OB Department or contact the Fairchild Medical Center Foundation directly at (530) 841-6239.
