A Transition of Care, Honoring 27 Years of Obstetrics Service
After many years of dedicated service to local families, Dr. Richard Swenson, will be concluding the obstetric (OB) portion of his services. Dr. Swenson will continue to provide ongoing women’s health and family practice care, remaining a trusted provider for patients throughout Siskiyou County, and beyond.
Throughout his career, Dr. Swenson has played a meaningful role in supporting growing families, guiding patients through pregnancy, childbirth, and the early stages of parenthood. His commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care has left a lasting impact on countless individuals and families.
Over the course of his obstetric career, Dr. Swenson has helped welcome new life into the world, including:
- 2,000 babies delivered
- 27 years providing obstetric care; 25 years at FMC

- Delivering a baby whose parents he also delivered years ago
- On his 50th birthday, Dr. Swenson had the honor of delivering a baby for a cherished family friend he had known for many years, making the occasion especially meaningful and memorable.
