Today at 11:00 AM, Fairchild Medical Center Clinic in Yreka, CA conducted an active shooter drill with simulated rounds fired inside the clinic. This drill enabled more than 40 staff members across the clinics to respond to an active shooter using the Run, Hide, Fight protocol. Mass casualties were simulated, allowing Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to respond. Fairchild’s Hazard Vulnerability Analysis recognized the threat of an active shooter in a healthcare setting, as increasingly seen across the country. Safety was of the utmost priority. This drill was the culmination of six months of multiple agency planning. Today’s event will be followed by the agencies sharing lessons learned. This drill highlights Fairchild’s ongoing commitment to the safety of our communities, patients and staff.

Fairchild Medical Center is pleased to announce the addition of “Dr. HabiYah,” MD, MSCI, to our Primary Care Team. Dr. HabiYah is a dedicated physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Weight Management. Prior to joining FMC in November, he served at the Indiana Regional Medical Center in Pennsylvania.
Dr. HabiYah completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, where he also earned his Doctorate in Medicine.

Physician Highlight – Jessica Steele, PA-C
Welcome to our Orthopedic Team
Jessica Steele specializes in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions. She attended PA school at South University in Savannah, Georgia, and has practiced as a PA in Georgia, New Mexico and California. She runs an ultrasound injection clinic to treat musculoskeletal pain nonoperatively.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys camping, hiking, family movie nights and spending time with her dogs.
She specializes in treating orthopedic conditions, including:
