The Fairchild Medical Center (FMC) Auxiliary was organized more than thirty-five (35) years ago for the purpose of promoting and advancing the welfare of FMC by assisting patients and hospital personnel, developing good public relations and providing equipment for FMC through its fundraising activities.
As operating margins continue to shrink, health care institutions increasingly turn to organizations (guilds, auxiliaries and foundations) to provide the resources necessary for continued growth and quality patient care in an ever changing health care environment.
Since its inception, the FMC Auxiliary has provided over 450,000 hours of volunteer services and has provided funds to Fairchild Medical Center for the purchase of much needed equipment. In addition, each year the Auxiliary offers scholarships to high school graduates planning a career in healthcare fields.
We invite you to be a part of the committed and dedicated team of the FMC Auxiliary by contacting Fairchild Medical Center at 530-842-4121. Ask for the Information Desk, ext. 6263 or the Gift Shop, ext. 6262.

Coming to the hospital as a young child can be a difficult experience. Many children find hospital's frightening and in addition to the physical pain they main be experience may also experience emotional distress.
We want to make their experience here at Fairchild Medical Center as pleasant as possible. We want to reassure them that every adult here wants to help and care for them in a gentle and genuine way.
That's why we created our Bear with Me program. Every child who visits our Emergency Department, as well as in-patient or out-patient units will receive a small stuffed teddy bear that is theirs to hold, cuddle, bond with and take home at the end of their care experience.
Our bear, F.R.E.D. is friendly, respectful, encouraging and dedicated to being a friend.
The Fairchild Medical Center Auxiliary is proud to support the efforts of Donate Life America to register organ and tissue donors. Annually in the month of April the FMX Auxiliary hosts Donate Life Day in the hospital lobby.
During the Christmas holidays the Fairchild Medical Center Auxiliary members gift new throw blankets to patients staying in the hospital. These soft, cuddly blankets provide a little touch of home to our patients who are unable to be in their own homes during the holidays.
The Fairchild Medical Center Auxiliary is proud to support our local high school students who are graduating with a plan to pursue higher education. Annually the FMC Auxiliary awards a scholarship to two deserving high school students.
