Get to Know OBGYN, Christal Duncan, MD

Dr. Christal Duncan is our #fridayintroductions team member today and we can’t wait to share a few things you might not know.

Dr. Duncan is an OBGYN and began providing care in our community starting in 1990. She currently serves as our Chief of Staff at FMC and patients can see her at the FMC Women’s Health Clinic across the street from the hospital.

Dr. Duncan is passionate about helping others and has served on multiple medical missions trips to Africa where she has provided women’s health care to women in developing countries like Togo and Nigeria.

Thank you Dr. Duncan for all you do to care for the women of our community and for helping to make our OB department and Women’s Health Clinic awesome.

Get to Know OBGYN, Richard Swenson, MD.

One of the sweetest sounds you’ll ever hear is the lullaby we play over the hospital’s intercom system every time a baby 👶🏻 is born at FMC.

Dr. Richard Swenson has heard that wonderful sound many times. Dr. Swenson has been delivering babies here at FMC for almost two decades and he loves what he does.

Next time you’re in the hospital and hear that lullaby it might just mean Dr. Swenson is at work bringing a new little one into our community.

Thank you Dr. Swenson for caring for our community so well!

Fairchild Medical Center is excited to announce that we've broken ground on the all-new Scott Valley Rural Health Clinic in Etna, California.

Scott Valley resident Jim Hendricks generously donated the land for the new clinic and we anticipate opening in summer 2018. The current location of Scott Valley Rural Health Clinic will remain open and continue to provide care to our neighbors in the Valley.

Breast MR Now Available at FMC

We're excited to announce that the Imaging department at Fairchild Medical Center now offers Breast MR; alleviating the need for our local patients to go outside of the area for this service.

Breast MR is appropriate for patients who have already had a mammogram and require a more detailed view for their Radiologist. It is especially beneficial for patients with dense breast tissue.

Breast MR may prevent patients from having to undergo an invasive procedure following a mammogram and it can be done all onsite at Fairchild Medical Center in Yreka.

Think Pink! is an annual local campaign to raise funds to provide mammograms free of charge through the Fairchild Medical Center Foundation's Mammography Fund.

In 2017 we are introducing the Think Pink! Butterfly Project to our community. Local businesses and community members can take part by purchasing a wooden butterfly, decorating their butterfly and displaying it during the month of October.

Butterflies start at just $10. All proceeds go to the Mammography Fund.

Read a letter from the Fairchild Medical Center Foundation's Executive Director, Elizabeth Langford to learn more about the Butterfly Project.

This year the Yreka Breast Cancer Run/Walk is celebrating it's 10th annual event on Saturday, October 7, 2017.
